His qualifications and experience are as varied as the places he has visited. Now based in North Wales he can accommodate your group in his farmhouse to do some classic Welsh peaks.
An active member of Mountain Rescue in North Yorkshire, Derek has a background in education, delivering numerous DofE expeditions within schools. He is an Accredited Assessor for DofE and also delivers First Aid Training courses. All of these activities are supported by a Mountain Leader certificate.
Gary has lived in The Scottish Highlands since 1994. With over 25 years of personal experience of walking and climbing in the mountains of the UK and many other countries around the world. For the last 17 years he has been guiding groups and individuals of varied ages, abilities and backgrounds throughout the UK and in several other countries. It may sound very clichéd but he really does live and breathe the mountains! During your time out in the hills with Gary you can expect the very highest quality tuition, safety and enjoyment. He holds the Summer, Winter and International Mountain Leader Awards plus the Trail Cycle Leader Award. Gary lives in Aviemore at the foot of The Cairngorm Mountains and runs his own mountain activities company: Tarmachan Mountaineering.
A keen rock climber, Ian holds CWA, SPA and Mountain Leader Awards. An experienced expedition leader, Ian has extensive knowledge of developing and delivering programmes for people with additional needs. Ian is a DofE Accredited Assessor.
Mark has many years experience of involvement in watersports, based at a coastal training centre in Anglesey. His wide range of watersports instructor qualifications are supported by his Mountain Leader Award. He is an accredited First Aid Trainer, has over 15 years involvement with Mountain Rescue, and is an Approved DofE Assessor. Mark is one of our event managers, his calm, confident, manner is a real asset to Addventure and an inspiration to others.
Based in mid-Wales, with extensive experience of delivering activities to the education sector, Mike is an active climber and adventurer and our font of knowledge on all things natural. He holds the Mountain Leader Award.
An experienced mountain leader, Paul has extensive knowledge of the UK, and is regional advisor to a national youth organisation.
He is an energetic and enthusiastic cub scout leader, a trainer and Accredited Assessor for the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, and has a keen interest in photography.
Trudy has a long association with the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award, she is an Accredited Assessor and has a wealth of experience delivering the Award to the 16 + age group, some of whom have previously been excluded from education. Trudy is familiar with expeditions throughout the UK, Europe (Tour du Mont Blanc) and in Norway. She is an accredited First Aid Trainer and a qualified Summer Mountain Leader.
Gill is a natural leader- Mountain Rescue Team Leader, Cub pack Leader; (she even runs the bar at the local club!) She has extensive experience of trekking (Kilimanjaro) and is a qualified Mountain Leader.
A true international adventurer, Steve is the real traveller within our organisation having extensive trekking knowledge of many remote parts of the world. In summer time Steve is often leading overseas treks, in winter he spends time accumulating even more Scottish Winter days on the hills. His qualifications include Summer, Winter, and International Mountain Leader Awards.
